Dr Quentes de Vries is a Specialist General Physician and Geriatrician with additional training in stroke medicine and movement disorders. He is committed to providing comprehensive and compassionate care to older adults and patients with complex medical conditions.
Originally from South Africa, Dr de Vries completed his medical degree at the University of the Free State before emigrating to Australia in 2007. He undertook his postgraduate general medical training at the Royal Brisbane Hospital and subsequently completed his specialist geriatric training at the Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service.
Dr de Vries plays a key role in the Sunshine Coast University Hospital Stroke Service and holds a public appointment at Sunshine Coast University Hospital.
He also works privately at Sunshine Coast University Private Hospital and Beach Brain Clinic.
Key areas of clinical interest include acute and general medicine, hypertension, geriatrics, stroke, and movement disorders (with a particular focus on Parkinson’s disease).
He has a keen interest in supporting people living with Parkinson’s in the community and is passionate about comprehensive, patient-centred care, whilst working closely with multidisciplinary teams to optimise outcomes and quality of life for his patients.
