Dr Rajan Patheja

Dr Rajan S. Patheja is a Ophthalmologist  who consults privately at the Eye and Laser Centre Gold Coast. He also holds prestigious public positions at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital and the adjacent Surgical Treatment and Rehabilitation Service (STARS). He is experienced at managing a range of elective and emergent ophthalmic conditions and is focused on achieving optimal outcomes for his patients.

Dr Patheja grew up on the Gold Coast before attending medical school at the University of New South Wales, where he was awarded First Class Honours as well as the Prince of Wales Hospital's Graham Macdonald and John Coleman Prizes for the best combined clinical and academic performances in medicine and surgery respectively. He subsequently completed his specialist ophthalmology training in Queensland before undertaking a further two years of Vitreo-Retinal Fellowship.
