Dr Rajan Patheja

Dr Rajan S. Patheja is a opthalmologist who consults privately at the Eye and Laser Centre Gold Coast. He also holds a prestigious public position at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital. He is experienced at managing a range of elective and emergent ophthalmic conditions and is focused on achieving optimal outcomes for his patients through technical excellence and thorough communication.

Having grown up on the Gold Coast, Dr Patheja attended medical school at the University of New South Wales, where he was awarded First Class Honours as well as the Prince of Wales Hospital's Graham Macdonald and John Coleman Prizes for the best combined clinical and academic performances in medicine and surgery respectively. He subsequently completed his specialist ophthalmology training in Queensland before undertaking a further two years of Vitreo-Retinal Fellowship. Dr Patheja finally returned to settle on the Gold Coast in 2024, with his wife and son.
