Dr Richard Allom is an Orthopaedic Surgeon with a subspecialist focus on conditions of the knee. He holds Specialist Registration in Australia and the United Kingdom and is a Fellow of both the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and the Royal College of Surgeons of England.
Dr Allom provides care for a wide range of knee conditions, including arthritis, sports injuries, ligament injuries, meniscal tears, patellofemoral problems and complex or multi-ligament injuries. His practice includes knee replacement surgery, joint preservation procedures, and soft-tissue and reconstructive surgery. He also performs primary hip replacement surgery.
He is committed to evidence-based care and continues to contribute to orthopaedic research, including areas such as knee replacement techniques, alignment strategies and the use of technology-assisted surgery. Dr Allom is actively involved in medical education through teaching and examination of medical students and orthopaedic trainees.
