Dr Rosie Dawkins

Waverley Private Hospital would like to introduce Dr Rosie Dawkins an ophthalmologist with further training in vitreo-retinal surgery. Rosie undertook ophthalmology training in Melbourne at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital and completed a fellowship in medical and surgical retina in Cambridge UK, and a further fellowship in vitreo-retinal surgery at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital.

Her professional interests include the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of inherited retinal detachments, as well as training in all aspects of medical and surgical retina. She also has strong research portfolio, with appointments at the Centre for Eye Research Australia (CERA), and Melbourne University. Rosie undertook laboratory research and a master’s degree at Harvard University.

Rosie is also engaged with global ophthalmology, and previously lived and worked in Timor-Leste, providing ophthalmology services as well as training local doctors and undertaking research for service development.
