About

Dr Samuel Lynskey is an Australian-trained orthopaedic surgeon with a clinical focus on sports knee surgery and joint replacement of the hip, knee and shoulder.

Sam completed orthopaedic surgical training and was awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS). Following this, he undertook additional subspecialty training in sports knee surgery and joint reconstruction.

Dr Lynskey has undertaken further training in robotic-assisted hip and knee replacement, including experience at St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne and the Fortius Clinic in London. His training has included patient-specific planning, implant positioning, and soft-tissue balancing in joint replacement surgery.

Dr Lynskey completed a sports knee fellowship in London, contributing to the management of athletes with knee injuries. He has also undertaken additional fellowship training in regional Australia, with experience in hip, knee and shoulder surgery, as well as orthopaedic trauma.

Dr Lynskey holds a PhD examining molecular and transcriptomic pathways in tendon healing and shoulder conditions. His clinical practice incorporates current evidence and research in orthopaedic surgery.

Sam holds public hospital appointments at St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne and Northern Hospital, and serves as Scientific Secretary for the Victorian Branch of the Australian Orthopaedic Association.

Dr Lynskey consults privately at Northern Private Hospital. Dr Lynskey provides assessment and management of orthopaedic conditions, with treatment options discussed based on individual patient needs.
