Dr Shashank Desai

Dr Shashank Desai is a highly qualified and experienced Breast Surgeon, with extensive training and experience in oncoplastic breast surgery. He also specialises in laparoscopic surgery, gastro-intestinal endoscopy, endocrine surgery and general surgery.

He has been caring for both private and public patients in Australia and New Zealand for more than three decades, and has established a multidisciplinary model of breast cancer care and introduced state-of-the-art technological advances in breast cancer care in the various hospitals where he has held appointments. Dr Desai is known by patients and colleagues alike for his compassionate and patient-centred approach to practice.

Dr Desai is also an active contributor to medical education. He is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Queensland and is involved in teaching medical students and surgical trainees.
