About
Providing general medicine and inpatient care to the acutely unwell, Dr Shehan Atapattu is a general physician offering inpatient and outpatient services at Lake Macquarie Private Hospital and inpatient services at Warners Bay Private Hospital.
Dr Atapattu completed his general medicine training at the John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle and obtained his fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP).
Vastly experienced in the delivery of holistic care to patients with chronic complex comorbidities, Dr Atapattu’s special interests include managing multi morbidity in older adults, dementia, polypharmacy, osteoporosis, Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus, undifferentiated dyspnoea and infectious diseases.
He is available to speak at GP forums on any of these areas.
