Dr Sheila Rahman is a specialist geriatrician offering inpatient and outpatient services across the Illawarra region. She provides holistic, evidence-based care for older adults, with a focus on improving function, independence, and long-term outcomes.

Her areas of clinical expertise include:

• Perioperative medicine — risk assessment and stratification, optimisation, and collaborative care planning for older adults undergoing elective or urgent surgery, including management of frailty, dementia, and acute medical conditions.
• Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment (CGA) & medication review — supporting diagnostic clarity, safe prescribing, multidisciplinary input, and admission/discharge planning.
• Cognitive and memory assessment — for suspected dementia or cognitive decline.
• Falls, bone health, and fracture prevention — including osteoporosis management and secondary fracture risk reduction.
• Rehabilitation — promoting recovery and reconditioning after surgery or major illness.

Dr Rahman works closely with general practitioners, surgeons, and multidisciplinary teams to support both private inpatient admissions and consultations, as well as outpatient geriatric review.
