About
Dr Simon Chan graduated from University of Sydney in 1999 with honours. He completed residency at Royal North Shore Hospital, and went on to train in the specialty of Rehabilitation Medicine. He attained Fellowship of the Australasian Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine (AFRM) in 2005, winning the Basmajian Prize for proficiency in the Fellowship Clinical Examination. His desire is to treat each patient holistically and compassionately, with the aim of maximising his/her function through a comprehensive rehabilitation program.
Dr Chan has been a Visiting Medical Officer at Mt Wilga Private Hospital since 2007, and is currently serving as the Chair of the Medical Advisory Committee. He is Senior Staff Specialist with the Rehabilitation and Aged Care Service at Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital, and has visiting rights at Sydney Adventist Hospital, Macquarie University Hospital and Lady Davidson Private Hospital.
Dr Chan has general interests in rehabilitation of the older person, orthopaedic and cardiac rehabilitation. He is an accredited training supervisor with the AFRM and is actively involved in training registrars, residents and medical students.
