Dr Smita Agarwal

Dr Smita Agarwal is an ophthalmologist with a interest in refractive cataract surgery, glaucoma and anterior segment eye diseases. Dr Agarwal completed her Ophthalmology training at Monash Medical Centre, Victoria where she also completed her advanced training in cataract surgery. She has worked as a fractional Staff Specialist (Ophthalmology) at Westmead Eye Hospital, Westmead where she taught advanced cataract surgery to Ophthalmology registrars for about three years. Since receiving her RANZCO fellowship in 2006, she has performed well over 10,000 eye related surgeries with excellent results. Dr Agarwal has a deep sense of responsibility to the society. She regularly visits less privileged countries and provides her services without any fee.

Smita has a deep sense of responsibility to the community, particularly those with limited access to health care, and makes regular visits to developing countries where she provides free medical services to those with no access to basic eye care.
