About
Dr Sunthra Lingam is a Gynaecologist and Fertility Specialist who has been serving the Far North Queensland community since 2009. With a strong foundation in Obstetrics and Gynaecology from Malaysia (MBBS, MOG), he furthered his expertise in Australia by completing a Master of Reproductive Medicine (MRepMed) and earning Fellowship with the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRANZCOG).
Dr Lingam’s clinical interests span the full spectrum of fertility care, including gynaecological imaging, complex infertility cases, and male infertility. His approach is deeply empathetic and personalised—shaped by his own journey through fertility treatment. This firsthand experience allows him to connect with patients on a meaningful level, understanding both the medical and emotional challenges they face.
In addition to his role at Queensland Fertility Group (QFG) Cairns, Dr Lingam is a Visiting Medical Officer (VMO) in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Cairns Hospital. He is committed to delivering compassionate, evidence-based care tailored to each individual or couple’s unique circumstances.
