About
Dr Tharmarajah (Raj) Sorubarajan is a paediatrician with more than 23 years of clinical practice across both public and private healthcare settings, now consulting from the Ramsay Specialist Centre – North Street.
Dr Sorubarajan graduated from the Colombo Faculty of Medicine in Sri Lanka and completed his specialist training in general paediatrics. Since then, he has served in a wide range of rural and regional hospitals throughout North Queensland and Western Australia, gaining extensive experience in diverse clinical environments.
He has a clinical interest in developmental and general paediatrics, with a particular passion for supporting children with neurodevelopmental disorders.
Dr Sorubarajan is actively engaged in research, with his most recent article published in the Australian Journal of Rural Health in 2024. Since relocating to Rockhampton in 2020, Dr Sorubarajan has proudly made the region his home.
He is deeply committed to the local community, both professionally and personally, and values the opportunity to contribute to the health and wellbeing of families in Central Queensland.
