About
Dr Tampiyappa is a Geriatrician and Stroke Physician based at Sunshine Coast University Hospital and offers his services to private patients at Nambour Selangor Private Hospital.
He trained at St Thomas’ Hospital London before emigrating to Australia in 2004. After completing his physician training at the Sunshine Coast he pursued a fellowship in Stroke Medicine at St George’s Hospital in London.
Dr Tampiyappa is currently the Clinical Director of stroke, neurology, geriatric and rehabilitation services at the Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service. He runs a multidisciplinary movement disorder service for the Sunshine Coast based at Maleny Soldiers Memorial Hospital. He is also part of the rehabilitation service at Nambour Selangor Private Hospital since its opening in 2012.
Dr Tampiyappa’s expertise lies in all aspects of geriatric medicine and rehabilitation, as well as the breadth of stroke medicine and movement disorders.
