Dr Vivek Phakey

Waverley Private Hospital would like to introduce Dr Vivek Phakey who graduated with first class honours from Monash University in 1984 and completed his ophthalmology training in Melbourne and Glasgow before establishing Waverley Eye Clinic in 1994.

He is an ophthalmologist with extensive experience in the medical and surgical treatment of diseases of the eye. Vivek particular interests include diagnosis and treatment of glaucoma, retinal vascular disease (such as diabetic retinopathy), ocular inflammation, disorders of the eyelids, neurological diseases of the eye, paediatric eye conditions, ocular emergencies, macular degeneration including injection for Wet AMD, and cataract with state-of-the-art small incision surgical techniques. Vivek also performs cosmetic Botox injections.

Vivek performs cataract surgery at Waverley Private Hospital in Mount Waverley and Victoria Parade Surgery Centre in East Melbourne.

For the last 10 years, Vivek has been a committee member of the Waverley Private Hospital Medical Advisory Committee.
