About
Dr Wasing Taggu is a consultant cardiologist with over 20 years of experience in Australia and the UK, specialising in interventional cardiology, device therapy, and general cardiology. His clinical expertise includes coronary angiography and stenting via the radial artery, as well as permanent pacemaker and internal cardiac defibrillator implantation.
He completed his specialist cardiology training (CCT) under the East of England Deanery in Cambridge, receiving commendations for clinical excellence. He held leadership roles in the UK in cardiology service development and quality improvement.
Dr Taggu is Head of Cardiology at Joondalup Health Campus, where he has led the department's expansion, including establishing new cardiac catheterisation labs and a state-of-the-art 22-bed Cardiac Care Unit in the K block.
Renowned for his compassionate, patient-centred approach, Dr Taggu has been recognised with two national UK awards for excellence in patient care. He was named Consultant of the Year at JHC in 2024.
He is also actively involved in research, with interests in interventional cardiology, device therapy, cardiac imaging, and gender-based cardiovascular outcomes. He holds an appointment as Associate Clinical Professor at Curtin University. He contributes to international cardiology forums through presentations, publications, and membership in multiple European Society of Cardiology (ESC) Working Groups, dedicated to advancing clinical practice and improving patient outcomes.
