Mr Zaid Ali is a UK-trained orthopaedic surgeon with expertise in upper limb surgery, arthroscopy, and reconstructive joint procedures, including shoulder and elbow replacement. He completed his higher surgical training in London and the South East of England and is a Fellow of both the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and the Royal College of Surgeons of England in Trauma and Orthopaedic surgery. His training spans a broad range of orthopaedic disciplines, complemented by advanced fellowship experience in adult arthroscopic and reconstructive surgery at the Perth Orthopaedic & Sports Medicine Centre in Perth, Australia.
Dr Ali has a clinical focus in shoulder and upper limb pathology, supported by dedicated higher surgical training posts and fellowship-level exposure. He also holds a Master’s degree with Merit in Sports Medicine, Exercise and Health, reflecting his interest in functional outcomes and recovery in active patient populations. His clinical practice includes evidence-based care, with multiple peer-reviewed publications and ongoing roles as a reviewer for orthopaedic journals. Dr Ali was awarded the 2026 DePuy Synthes Upper Limb Travelling Fellow Award. This award facilitates visits to surgeons across Australia, supporting collaboration and the exchange of surgical techniques.
Alongside his clinical work, Dr Ali has experience in teaching and leadership, having designed and delivered national orthopaedic courses and contributed to trainee education through his public appointment at Rockhampton Base Hospital. He remains actively involved in clinical practice, innovation, and the ongoing development of orthopaedic surgery.
