Dr Zivai Nangati

Zivai Nangati has worked in Palliative care for over 18 years. Half of that time was in the UK. In the last 8 years, she has worked in the Illawarra Shoalhaven local health district Palliative care team as a Staff Specialist working across different settings – palliative care unit, community, outpatients clinic and hospital consults as well as Head of Service.  

More recently, Zivai has been working independently focusing on palliative care clinical, leadership and teaching responsibilities. Interests include working as Medical lead and practitioner in the voluntary assisted dying (VAD) Service, ISLHD; supporting efforts to improve Palliative Care in local residential aged care facilities and at the Wollongong private hospital.

She strongly supports improving access to palliative care services and respecting autonomy for people facing end of life care whilst working effectively with other clinicians to support care at this critical stage.
