About

Dr Felicity Connon graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2010 with a combined MBBS/BMedSci. Following her internship and a year of surgical residency at the Royal Melbourne Hospital, she was accepted into the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS) General Surgery training program. Over her three years in General Surgery she also concurrently earned a Master of Surgery in Surgical Anatomy at the University of Sydney — receiving the Sydney Nade Prize as the top student in her cohort.
Drawn increasingly to head, neck and cancer surgery, Dr Connon applied and was accepted into Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery training with RACS in 2016, training across hospitals in Victoria and Tasmania. She successfully sat her fellowship examinations and was admitted as a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery) in 2021. Dr Connon then further developed her experience and technical skills by undertaking four subspecialty fellowships across Australia, the United Kingdom and Canada. After a year-long head and neck cancer resection and reconstruction fellowship at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, she completed the Microsurgery fellowship at Guy’s and St
Thomas’ — the UK’s largest NHS trust — gaining broad proficiency in head and neck, facial palsy, lower limb and trauma, and breast reconstruction. She then joined Great Ormond Street Hospital, the UK’s quaternary paediatric institution, for a Paediatric Plastic Surgery fellowship focused on ear reconstruction, facial palsy, vascular malformations and paediatric microsurgery, before completing Canada’s premiere Craniofacial fellowship at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in Toronto.

Now based on the Sunshine Coast, Dr Connon brings her international and Australian expertise to patients across the region. She has also held multiple public hospital consultant positions in Melbourne, Canberra and Darwin where she focuses on microsurgery, trauma and head and neck surgery. Her practice is built around the individual needs of each patient, with a flexible, multifaceted approach and a strong emphasis on clear communication, ongoing support and attentive follow-up. Outside of work she enjoys time with her family, staying active, and indulging her passion for wine as a hobby sommelier.
