About

Jacqui is a Registered Psychologist who provides evidence-based therapy to young adults, adults and older age individuals. Jacqui uses a combination of strategies that assist with the development of skills and practices that not only help people to heal, but to flourish. Jacqui has extensive training and experience in the health care industry, working first as a Registered Nurse, then in Training and Development, before moving into the field of Psychology.

Since then, experience in both the public and private space has provided her with a wealth of opportunity to assist people experiencing difficulties with mood and self-esteem issues, anxiety, chronic stress & burnout, PTSD and complex trauma, as well as grief and loss. Her approach to anxiety in particular, is also informed by her lived experience. Jacqui knows how debilitating anxiety can be, and the widespread impacts of this condition on personal and social relationships, in addition to personal and professional success. As such, Anxiety has become a specific area of interest, and she is passionate about assisting people to recover, and to achieve significant personal growth and success through that recovery. Jacqui approaches trauma from the same perspective – to heal and recover, and then to flourish, following a Post Traumatic Growth model of therapy.

To this end, Jacqui utilises a range of therapeutic models, and is skilled in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Mindfulness, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, as well as Positive Psychology and Transpersonal (or spiritually oriented) Psychology. She also has specialised interests in Neurobiology and the brain related sciences, particularly as they apply to trauma. From this broad base, Jacqui draws on techniques to provide individualised care for her clients and specific presentations. Jacqui is also SIRA registered and experienced in helping people to return to work following psychological and physical injuries.

Jacqui strives to provide quality and compassionate care that promotes resilience, rather than solely focusing on clinical symptoms. She is passionate about helping individuals find a sense of well-being and lasting personal growth, whatever significant life/health challenges they may be facing.
