Michelle Champion is a dedicated psychologist with a passion for helping individuals navigate their mental health journeys. With a unique blend of expertise in trauma, PTSD, and the mind-body connection, Michelle is committed to uncovering the underlying causes of health issues, stress, and trauma. Her approach is strengths-based and evidence-driven, ensuring that clients are empowered as the experts of their own lives.

In addition to these, Michelle has a keen interest in the mind-body connection and the holistic aspects of mental health. Michelle employs a variety of therapeutic approaches tailored to each client's needs. She uses Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Hypnotherapy, Eye-Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Imagery Rescripting Therapy, Schema Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Brief Solution Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT). Her goal is to provide a safe and supportive environment where clients can explore their thoughts and feelings, develop coping strategies, a new narrative, and work towards their personal goals.
Michelle's primary goal is to help clients achieve a better quality of life by addressing their mental health concerns. She believes in a collaborative approach, working closely with clients to develop personalised treatment plans. Her therapeutic approaches are diverse, allowing her to adapt to the unique needs of each individual. By integrating various evidence-based practices, Michelle ensures that her clients receive comprehensive and effective care.
Michelle has been practising psychology for several years, gaining experience in various settings, including schools, a psychiatric hospital, a youth detention centre, and both not-for-profit and private psychological services. She has worked with a broad spectrum of clinical and non-clinical mental health issues across different cultures and age groups. Michelle particularly enjoys working with individuals who have experienced trauma and those dealing with anxiety, stress, and mood disorders.
Michelle holds a Bachelor of Social Science (Hons) and a Master of Forensic Research Psychology. She has completed post-graduate papers in clinical psychology and post-graduate training in Clinical Hypnosis through the Australian Society of Hypnosis. Recently, she completed EMDR 1, a technique for helping individuals process unresolved trauma. Michelle's extensive education and training equip her with the skills and knowledge to provide high-quality psychological care.
