After graduating University of Melbourne (1983), Mr Pick completed Fellowships with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in General Surgery (1993) and Cardiothoracic Surgery (1996). His postgraduate training included fellowships at the Mayo Clinic.
With over 20 years of private practice, Mr Pick offers a comprehensive and contemporary service in both cardiac and thoracic surgery, with a focus on minimally invasive approaches to enhance patient recovery and outcomes.
Practice includes:
· Aortic valve and root surgery (including valve-sparing David procedures, Bentall, and total arch reconstructions)
· Minimally invasive mitral and tricuspid valve repair, with a repair rate exceeding 95%
· Coronary artery bypass grafting, including off-pump and hybrid techniques
· Surgical management of atrial fibrillation, including totally thoracoscopic and convergent procedures
· Video-assisted thoracic surgery (VATS) for lung cancer, nodules, and pleural disease
· Management of mesothelioma, mediastinal masses, myasthenia gravis, and congenital thoracic conditions
Mr Pick regularly attends and contributes to multidisciplinary meetings to ensure a collaborative and streamlined care model for shared patients.
