About Mr Koong
Mr David Koong practices at Joondalup Health Campus for both public and private patients and also operates at Glengarry Private Hospital. Mr Koong offers inpatient surgical services for private patients on a no-gap basis. Mr Koong has interest in the following:
- Laparoscopic Colorectal Surgery - laparoscopic right hemicolectomy and anterior resection
- Laparoscopic anti-reflux surgery/fundoplication and hiatus hernia repair and laparoscopic management of achalasia
- Laparoscopic cholecystectomy and inguinal hernia repair
- Major incisional hernia repair
- Gastroscopy and colonoscopy
Background & Training
Mr Koong graduated from the University of Western Australia in 1999 and was awarded Fellowship in General Surgery in 2009. Mr Koong received two years of Post Fellowship training in gastrointestinal surgery at The Geelong Hospital, Victoria, where he received intensive training in both open and laparoscopic colorectal surgey and advanced laparoscopic upper GI surgery. Mr Koong is also fully accredited to perform gastroscopy and colonscopy.
