Mr David Yong

Mr David Yong is a General Surgeon with interests in Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery; Bariatric Surgery; Endoscopy; Gallbladder; General Surgery Hernia; Gastric Surgery; Small Bowel Surgery.

Mr Yong has been the Director of Joondalup Bariatric Services since 2013.  He has performed over 4000 bariatric procedures and he is involved in the teaching of Bariatric Fellows.

Mr Yong's interests include:

• General Surgery - hernias, gallbladder, small and large bowel surgery.
• Gastric surgery - all benign and malignant conditions.
• Benign conditions - hiatus hernia surgery, fundoplication, surgery for achalasia.
• Advanced Laparoscopic surgery - hernias including inguinal, femoral, umbilical and incisional, laparoscopic splenectomy, common bile duct exploration and some oesophago-gastric tumours such as gastro-intestinal stromal tumours (GIST).
• Bariatric surgery - laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy, gastric bypass and all revisional surgery.
• Endoscopy - both gastroscopy and colonoscopy.
