Mr Michael Ledger is an established Perth Orthopaedic Surgeon with a focus on shoulder and knee conditions, including sports injuries and joint replacement. With a personal background in competitive swimming, he brings an understanding of movement, biomechanics, and athletic performance to his clinical approach. He works closely with a multidisciplinary network of physiotherapists and rehabilitation specialists to deliver coordinated, high-quality care. Mr Ledger is known for his warm and approachable manner, creating individualised management plans that prioritise optimal outcomes for every patient. 

 

Background and Training

Mr Ledger completed his medical degree at the University of Western Australia before undertaking specialist training through the Australian Orthopaedic Association. He has worked alongside leading Australian and international surgeons in shoulder and knee surgery, gaining extensive experience in advanced arthroscopy and contemporary joint replacement techniques. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed research publications in both shoulder and knee surgery and remains actively engaged in ongoing professional development, regularly attending national and international orthopaedic meetings. Outside of his surgical practice, Michael maintains his passion for swimming and enjoys spending time outdoors with his family.
