About

Professor Amy Rigby is a senior medical respiratory and sleep medicine physician with international qualifications and experience in both Europe and Australia. She graduated from the University of Newcastle, Australia, in 2004, and went on to complete her specialist respiratory training within the largest preeminent tertiary training hospitals in Sydney - the Royal Prince Alfred and St Vincent’s University hospitals. She holds sub specialty expertise in lung transplantation medicine, and was the youngest female appointed consultant to the prestigious NSW State Heart & Lung Transplant in Sydney.

Prof Rigby has worked internationally, with her Masters in Public Health being awarded by the University of Piemonte, Italy, when she was undertaking further studies and work experience at Cambridge University Hospital and Royal Papworth Hospital.

In 2021 she was awarded the role of Associate Clinical Professor with University College Dublin based on her contribution to teaching and research programmes. Professor Rigby has significant experience in implementing digital technologies and AI into transforming healthcare access and improved outcomes for patients, serving as chief medical officer for a range of both Irish and international high growth digital scale up companies.

In 2023 Prof Rigby was appointed Clinical Director of Medicine at Blackrock Clinic, Dublin, the largest private hospital in Ireland. She has subspecialty expertise in asthma, lung cancer, sleep, and precision pulmonary medicine.
