About
Professor Heggie completed his undergraduate dental and medical degrees at the University of Melbourne and also trained in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in Melbourne. He undertook further Fellowship experience in Seattle (University of Washington) and in craniofacial surgery at the Royal Children’s Hospital of Melbourne.
He is currently Clinical Professor & Senior Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon at the Royal Children's Hospital of Melbourne and is in private practice in the CBD, Camberwell and Bundoora.
His main interests are the correction of developmental facial deformity (orthognathic surgery) and paediatric cranio-maxillo-facial surgery. He is also a past president of the Australian & New Zealand Association of OMS and currently, Chair of the Research and Education Foundation.
