Professor Andrew Thompson is a Consultant Psychiatrist and Professor of Youth Mental Health at Orygen and the University of Melbourne, with more than 25 years of experience in psychiatry across Australia and the United Kingdom. He completed his training at the University of Oxford. He has extensive experience in youth mental health, early psychosis, and emerging psychiatric disorders, and currently serves as Head of Early Psychosis Research at Orygen and National Medical and Academic Lead for the headspace Early Psychosis program. Professor Thompson has experience in the assessment and treatment of psychosis, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, and complex mental health presentations in young people and adults. He also has experience in working with elite athletes.
