Health consumers, patients, participants of clinical research, those with lived experience of a health concern and family members and carers, are the reason we do what we do. Therefore, it is essential to listen, include, and be led by the voices of those who our work affects most.

We aim to include the consumer voice into:

  • our research priorities and direction of funding;
  • the development, design and implementation of our research;
  • the communication of our research and dissemination of results

Ramsay Research Consumer Engagement Database

The Ramsay Research Consumer Engagement Database connects people with lived experience to meaningful opportunities to shape and strengthen our research and research related activities. Through a simple, supportive, and collaborative process, consumers can register their interest and be invited to contribute to projects across our organisation.

Our engagement cycle ensures consumers are empowered at every stage:

  • Introduce: Interested consumers are identified and invited to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) form to join the database. 
  • Engage & Support: We screen, onboard and equip consumers with the information and guidance they need to participate confidently.
  • Consumer Involvement: Consumers take part in a range of engagement activities, from project feedback to co‑design and research advisory roles.
  • Feedback Loop & Re‑engagement: We close the loop by sharing how consumer insights influenced outcomes, and we keep participants connected with ongoing updates and future opportunities.
