Biostatistics consultation

Unlock the power of data with tailored biostatistical support to help strengthen your research. Our consultations assist with all aspects of biostatistics, including study design, data analysis, interpretation and more.

We can provide advice in the following areas:

  • Development of ethics protocols
  • Feasibility of the project proposal
  • Clarification of research question
  • Identification of outcomes
  • Confounding variables management
  • Sample size requirements/ power analysis
  • Advantages / disadvantages and practicality of data collection methodology
  • Database development & management and data collection using REDCap
  • Assistance in conducting and performing the analyses
  • Writing, presenting and displaying results in tables
  • Interpretation of results
  • Assistance with writing and reviewing of manuscripts (specifically, abstract, methods and results)
  • Reviewing oral presentations
  • Methodological assistance with grant applications
  • Protocol development in systematic reviews and registration in PROSPERO.

Consultations are available to all Ramsay accredited practitioners and employees, including doctors, VMOs, nurses and other personnel involved in or planning research at Ramsay facilities.

  • Consultations with: Nazim Bhimani, a highly experienced biostatistician and data manager.
  • Method: All consultations are online via Zoom or Microsoft Teams.

 

Meet our biostatistician: Nazim Bhimani

Nazim is a biostatistician and data manager for the gastrointestinal department at Royal North Shore Hospital and a lecturer in surgical education at the University of Sydney. He is also pursuing a part-time PhD in medicine and holds a Master of Biostatistics, a Bachelor of Science (Honours) and a Bachelor of Science (Advanced Science). Nazim is a member of the Ramsay Health Care Human Research Ethics Committee (HREC) and has an active role in volunteer leadership positions.

Cost

Your first two one-hour consultations are free. Fees apply for every consultation thereafter and must be covered by the person requesting the consultation. 

Please note: Completion of the registration form does not confirm the appointment. Someone will be in contact to confirm your appointment time and send a calendar invitation. If you need to cancel, kindly provide three hours notice.
