Ella Raguz was looking for flexibility in her role at Ramsay Pharmacy when she decided to move from Brisbane to Bendigo in rural Victoria to support her winemaker partner.

“As a lot of people know, Brisbane's not a big wine region, so opportunities for [my partner] are kind of limited,” the National Clinical Educator says.

“A good opportunity came up for him in regional Victoria and all I had to do was ask and say, "look, I know that there's no Ramsay facilities close by, I know I'm not going to be close to the team, but is it still okay?"

The answer was a resounding yes and with support from team Ramsay, Ella has carried on seamlessly in her role, mixing working from home with travelling across the country to deliver training.

“I look after education for all our staff, from the pharmacist, pharmacy assistants, dispensary technicians, both across hospital and the retail community pharmacies as well.”

“It was a very easy transition because Ramsay made the work part incredibly easy. And I'm so thankful for that because we've since bought a house and are loving our life in Regional Victoria.

“I think ever since the pandemic, it's become more important to have a good work-life balance. And I think having flexibility in your role is extremely important.

“How I felt was valued, in that, Ramsay is willing to be flexible for me, so it means I'm more than happy to go above and beyond for them.”
