My name is Marina Mitchell and I’ve worked at Albury Wodonga Private Hospital for 20 years.

Describe your job without using a position title?

I set up the catering department for the cooks to perform their duties. I make a mean morning tea and a bloody good sandwich.

What motivates you and why?

I am motivated by a fantastic team environment. I really enjoy my job, especially patient feedback and making their days brighter.

If you could learn to do anything, what would it be?

Hmm, I’m not sure if there is anything else I need to learn! Maybe something exciting like Skydiving.

What does the Year of Health and Care Workers mean to you?

The year of the Health and Care Workers means a lot. To realise that I am an important piece in a wonderful, but testing, health care system that we have in Australia. Many people take our health care system for granted yet many other countries envy it.

What would you say to inspire future generations of workers in health care?

It doesn’t matter if you are the CEO or an environmental staff member, we are all part of Ramsay Health Care’s success, so don’t stand back, get in there and give it a go!
