My name is Pat and I’ve worked at Greenslopes Private Hospital for 19 years.

Describe your job without using a position title?

I interact with and provide all clients, patients, relatives, nurses and doctors with professional customer support in a timely manner.

What motivates you and why?

Knowing I am able to provide comprehensive support in my position. Speaking to many different people from all walks of life and being able to successfully handle their inquiries. I speak to so many interesting people during my shift.

If you could learn to do anything, what would it be?

I would love to do a quilting course or learn to ride a bike!

What does the Year of Health and Care Workers mean to you?

Recognition and appreciation of the hard work all Health Care Workers have contributed this year. It has been a difficult and challenging year for them, particularly the nurses and their work has not gone unnoticed. Health care workers are to be commended for their dedication under sometimes difficult circumstances.

What would you say to inspire future generations of workers in health care?

That it is a rewarding role to undertake. And your clients will never forget your kindness and helpfulness. Undertake the role with an open mind and be prepared to work hard.
