My name is Raju Bairy and I’ve worked at Caboolture Private Hospital for 4 years and 2 months.

Describe your job without using a position title?

I make sure everyone – patient, staff and doctors – are fed. I order all the required products and stock for cooking and maintain the hospital kitchen and ensure that it is cleaned according to hospital standards.

What motivates you and why?

I love cooking food and serving people. It has been my passion from childhood and the reason I chose this career. The team at Caboolture Private Hospital is a beautiful team and we work well together, encouraging each other and learning new things each day.

If you could learn to do anything, what would it be?

I would love to be a cricketer! Some of my favourite players are Virat Kohli and David Warren.

What does the Year of Health and Care Workers mean to you?

2021 has been designated as the International Year of the Health and Care workers in appreciation and gratitude for staff’s unwavering dedication in the fight against the Covid 19 Pandemic. I am proud to be a Health and Care Worker and making a difference in someone’s life.

What would you say to inspire future generations of workers in health care?

Health care workers are the difference in someone’s life each day. Some health care workers help bring a new life into the world, others save a life from ending. As a health care worker, you can work anywhere in the world and make a life for yourself.
