MBBS (UNSW), FAFRM (RACP), FACRM, FFPMANZCA, M.Med.Sci. (Clin. Epi) obtained his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from the University of New South Wales in 1981 completing his Internship at Royal North Shore Hospital. Michael became a Rehabilitation Physician in 1988.
Michael become a Fellow of the Faculty of Pain Medicine, Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists in 1999 and completed his Master in Medical Science (Clinical Epidemiology) from the University of Newcastle in 2000.
Michael Pollack is a Senior Staff Specialist in Rehabilitation Medicine who has had a strong interest in stroke rehabilitation for many years. He has chaired the working parties which developed the first National Guidelines on Stroke Rehabilitation in Australia, and the first National Framework for Stroke Rehabilitation (with the National Stroke Foundation). He also co-founded the Australasian Stroke Unit Network (which has now evolved into the Australasian Stroke Coalition). Dr Pollack has chaired Stroke Services NSW (ACI), and is currently on the Executive Committee of the Rehabilitation Clinical Network (ACI). He has been involved with stroke research for a number of years, and is currently an Associate Investigator with the Centre of Research Excellence in Stroke Rehabilitation and Brain Recovery.

Although having a research interest, Michael’s principle love is Clinical Practice. Michael is a very personable physician who enjoys dealing directly with patients. Michael has published numerous articles and presented papers at local and National conferences.
