Dr Rannard is a Plastic Surgeon, trained in Australia and in the UK. She offers procedures across the spectrum of Plastic Surgery with interests in breast surgery, skin cancer, body contouring and facial plastic surgery.
Dr Rannard studied medicine in the UK, graduating in 2002 with a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery. She also gained a Bachelor of Medical Science for which she was awarded the William Leech Scholarship for Research for her thesis into treatments for children with cerebral palsy. Her initial surgical training was in London, gaining membership with the Royal College in Surgeons in 2006. Dr Rannard emigrated to Australia in 2009 and completed her training in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery here in Sydney. She has been awarded recognition with AHPRA and is a member of the Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons and fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. Dr Rannard is fully trained in procedures across the spectrum of Plastic Surgery, including microsurgical reconstruction of the breast, head and neck, and limbs. In 2022 she was awarded the Graham Coupland Medal by the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.
Dr Rannard spent 16 months as an international post-graduate fellow at the prestigious Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children in London, UK, subspecialising in cleft lip and palate and paediatric plastic surgery (congenital melanocytic naevi and ear reconstruction). She has also been involved in a charity outreach mission to Bangladesh, operating on patients with cleft lip and palate and those with the long-term effects of untreated burns. In addition to her clinical work, she has a strong interest in medical leadership and management and completed the 2 year ‘MILE’ (Modular Individualised Leadership Experiences) programme. Dr Rannard went on to co-develop the medical leadership course “FLASH – Fostering Leadership Across Systems in Health” which won Westmead’s QuWest Award in 2022, and the Western Sydney Health District’s ‘People and Culture Award ‘ in 2023.
Dr Rannard strongly believes in patient centred care, and spends the time to explore and discuss the options to ensure the best possible outcome, taking into account individual patient needs.
