Dr Peter Kilby aims to give patients a positive, thorough and efficient treatment experience. His goal is to help the patient understand the diagnosis and treatment options available.
Dr Kilby will only treat patients surgically when necessary. When determining patient treatment options Dr Kilby considers patient age, lifestyle and occupation in addition to the extent of their injury and what the final result may be. Based on these factors he can then tailor a treatment package for the individual.
Best treatment results require cooperation between patient and doctor. Dr Kilby therefore endeavours to make the treatment as comfortable as possible for the patient paying particular attention to the needs of the patient and their family. In order to do this most effectively Dr Kilby works within a team of allied health professionals including Physiotherapists, occupational therapists, rehab teams, hospital and home based nursing staff. This allows comprehensive delivery of care in order to optimise final outcome for the patient.
Dr Kilby was raised on a sheep, cattle and wheat property north east of Coonamble and schooled in the Bathurst Orange region. With strong personal and family ties to the rural community, he is passionate about and dedicated to rural health as a whole. He is especially committed to the pursuit of optimum joint function and excellent patient outcomes. His vision is to provide quality and personable care of the highest clinical standard to all patients.
Dr Kilby performs his surgeries at Dudley Private Hospital, Ramsay Surgical Centre Orange, Bathurst Base Hospital and Bathurst Private Hospital.
