Frances Perry House
Dr Dyson was excited and committed to becoming an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist from her first experiences as a medical student. She feels extremely lucky to be able to do the work she does. For Perri, the joy of seeing a baby born never diminishes. Gynaecology provides the privilege of improving a woman’s health whilst preserving her dignity.

She graduated from Monash University medical school in 1999 and now has more than 20 years experience in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Since obtaining her fellowship in 2008, she has worked in private and public practice in both Gynaecology and Obstetrics at the Royal Women’s Hospital, Mercy Hospital and Frances Perry House. She has worked in rural, remote and overseas locations. In particular, she has done advanced training in Dysplasia (abnormal pap smears), Laparoscopy, and all aspects of maternity care including Antenatal clinics and Intrapartum care (Labour and Birthing). Perri is also involved in training and supervision of O&G registrars at the Royal Women's Hospital.
Perri is part of the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Consulting Group, a group of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (Dr Leah Xu, Dr Jean Wong, Dr Natalia Khomko, Dr Robin Thurman, Dr Harvinder Kaur, Dr Stephen Lee), Midwives, a Lactation Consultant and Dietician. The practice is able to provide a multi-disciplinary team to support all aspects of patient care.
Perri chose to deliver her three sons at Frances Perry House. She wanted a safe environment, with the available backup of expert paediatric care, and well-rested Obstetricians who were able to use their shared experience to optimise patient care. She appreciated having her needs acknowledged and being given the opportunity of being part of the decision-making process throughout her pregnancy and in labour. In her own obstetric practice, Perri's priority is to provide this environment for her patients. She allows time for longer consultations and patient questions. She appreciates developing a relationship with patients over time and discussing their preferences to provide personalised care. Her own experiences of pregnancy, birth and caring for children contribute to the knowledge and understanding she is able to share with women.
