Clinical Practice
Actively involved in various groups, Dr. Gangatharan is a member of the WA Cancer and Palliative Care Network (WACPN) collaborative groups in Survivorship, Adolescent and Young Adults. Additionally, he serves as a member of the Australasian Leukaemia and Lymphoma Group (ALLG) Disease Group Committee's in High Grade NHL and Hodgkin Lymphoma, Low Grade NHL and CLL, and Supportive Care.
In his role as a Senior Clinical Lecturer at the University of Western Australia, Dr. Gangatharan contributes to the education of medical students. His dedication to evidence-based medicine is evident through his role as a reviewer of treatment protocols as a Haematology Reference Committee member for eviQ (https://www.eviq.org.au).
Dr. Gangatharan also serves as a laboratory haematologist for pathology providers Australian Clinical Laboratories and Pathwest at Fiona Stanley Hospital. His commitment to public healthcare is evident through his work at Fiona Stanley Hospital.
Medical Background & Training
Dr Gangatharan graduated from the University of Western Australia in 2001. He trained in clinical and laboratory haematology in Perth teaching hospitals as well as the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, Melbourne. Following admission to the RACP and RCPA he completed a 2-year Lymphoma Fellowship at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre in Toronto, Canada.
