Graduating with a medical degree from The University of Melbourne Dr. Hilary Martin tjen initiated her oncology training at Flinders Medical Centre in Adelaide. Her commitment to breast cancer care led her to work as a clinical fellow in the breast cancer unit at The Royal Marsden Hospital, London. Subsequently, she undertook another breast cancer clinical fellow year at Royal Perth Hospital. Dr. Martin's career progressed as she transitioned to a Specialist Physician Oncology role at Royal Perth Hospital before assuming a primary role as a Specialist Physician Oncology role at Fiona Stanley Hospital with a primary focus on breast cancer care.
Publications & Research
With a strong research interest, Dr. Martin earned her Masters of Public Health from the University of Sydney and completed her PhD at the University of Western Australia. Her doctoral research focused on predictors of recurrence of hormone receptor-positive breast cancer, with a particular emphasis on mammographic breast density.
As a principal investigator of multiple clinical trials, including investigator-initiated trials, Dr. Martin has made significant contributions to breast cancer research. She has numerous publications and has presented her research locally and internationally. Additionally, she is a regular contributor, by invitation, to the Breast Cancer Research Review.
