Clinical Practice

Dr Brian Lee is a Specialist Physician in Anaesthesia and Pain Medicine  His interests include interventional pain management, neuromodulation, non-surgical management of osteoarthritis  and multidisciplinary management. He provides comprehensive pain management to privately insured, DVA, WorkCover and MVIT patients that encompasses the following:

• Judicious, evidence based interventional pain management,
• Medication optimization 
• Engagement in multidisciplinary care with personally vetted allied health team
• Referral and collaboration with other medical specialists.

Dr Lee prides himself on his empathetic, patient-centred approach and aims to support primary care specialists in managing complex pain cases. He is available to discuss cases with, or answer questions, from colleagues via email or phone if required. Dr Lee treats each patient with compassion and empathy, and extensively utilizes interventional pain therapies as a part of a balanced, multifaceted approach to pain management.

Background & Training

Having completed his medical degree at Monash University, Melbourne and anaesthetic training in Auckland, New Zealand, Dr Lee then underwent training in pain medicine locally in WA with a focus on interventional procedures. He has demonstrated academic success with the Merit award for his Pain Medicine Fellowship Examination. Following this, he has obtained further training in spinal interventional procedures in Melbourne. In addition to his association with Hollywood Private Hospital and other leading private hospitals, Dr Lee holds public appointments as a Pain Medicine Physician and Anaesthetist at Royal Perth Hospital.

Teaching

He has a keen interest in education and regularly lectures medical students on pain management at University of Western Australia, where he is a Clinical Senior Lecturer.
