Clinical Practice
Dr. David Hamilton is a Specialist Physician in Anaesthesia and Pain Medicine. He is committed to helping individuals with acute and chronic pain gain meaningful relief and regain quality of life through interventional multidisciplinary care. His current practice covers all aspects of adult pain medicine. Dr. Hamilton enjoys spending time with his family, cycling, and snowboarding.
Background & Training
Dr. Hamilton was born in Scotland and initially pursued his interest in science, gaining a First-Class joint honours degree in Biochemistry and Immunology in 1997 from the University of Strathclyde, where he also received the Immunology Prize. He graduated from The University of Glasgow in 2002 with a degree in medicine. He completed surgical training in the southwest of England, gaining Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2006, before commencing training as an anaesthetist. He emigrated to Western Australia in 2013 and completed the Western Australian anaesthesia training program, gaining Fellowship in 2018. He further trained in Pain Medicine, including an interventional fellowship at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital.
Research & Teaching
To continue his undergraduate research developing a novel TB vaccine, Dr. Hamilton was awarded the prestigious Caledonian Scholarship. On the advice of the 1996 Nobel Prize in Medicine winner, he turned his attention to medicine. He has a strong background in research and has been involved in various academic pursuits throughout his career.
