Dr Gunaratne is a Western Australian-trained specialist orthopaedic surgeon. In 2011, he completed his medical education at the University of Otago in New Zealand and received orthopaedic training in Western Australia.

With a focus on hip, knee, shoulder, sports and orthopaedic trauma surgery, Dr. Gunaratne has a special interest in robotic and technology-assisted surgery, including direct anterior approach hip replacement surgery. He holds a PhD in robotics and completed his fellowship exams in 2022.

As a former state-level soccer player, Dr Gunaratne understands the importance of an active lifestyle and is dedicated to helping patients and athletes return to their activities safely and efficiently. Known for his compassionate care, he strives to achieve the best possible outcomes for all his patients.
