Mitcham Private Hospital would like to introduce Mr Trung Nguyen a locally trained orthopaedic surgeon with further training in shoulder and knee surgery.

Trung graduated from Melbourne University in 1993 and went on to complete his Advanced training in Orthopaedics in Melbourne in 2003.

Trung then spent the next 2 years in England undergoing further fellowship training in shoulder and knee surgery. During this time, he also spent more than 6 months at the Imperial College of London where he performed scientific research in complex ligament reconstructions for the knee which resulted in publications in International Orthopaedic Journals.

Apart from his private practice, Trung also holds public appointments at Monash Health and Austin Health. Nowadays, his main areas of practice are shoulder and knee.

Trung performs all types of surgery from arthroscopy to arthroplasty and robotic assisted surgery.

Shoulder arthroscopic surgery including rotator cuff repair and reconstruction; Total shoulder replacement with both conventional and reversed replacement; Proximal humeral fracture; Knee arthroscopy, ACL and complex ligament reconstructions; Robotic assisted total knee replacement
