Dr Paul Silberstein is a Neurologist with an interest in movement disorders.  His practice focusses exclusively on the management of Parkinson's disease and related conditions, tremor disorders and rarer neurologic conditions which affect human movement including dystonia, tics and myoclonus.  He has experience in the provision of all medical and surgical therapies for Movement disorders including device assisted therapies for the management of Parkinson's disease.

Dr Silberstein studied Medicine at the University of New South Wales, graduating with first class Honours and the University Medal. He trained in Neurology at St. George and Westmead Hospitals, Sydney and the Royal Free Hospital, London, UK, prior to undertaking a clinical and research Fellowship at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, Queen Square, London where he completed a Doctorate of Medicine in Parkinson's disease and Dystonia.

In addition to his VMO position at North Shore Private Hospital, Dr Silberstein is a Senior Staff Specialist Neurologist at the Royal North Shore Hospital and the Practice Principal of Integrated Neurology, a group Neurology and Rehabilitation Medicine practice located in close proximity to the hospital campus.

Dr Silberstein is a keen educator and is the clinical lead to the Movement Disorder meeting at RNSH where challenging diagnostic and management cases are presented and discussed in a multi-disciplinary forum.  He presents regularly at clinical meetings and patient support groups and has published extensively in leading international Neurology journals including Brain and Nature Neuroscience.  Dr Silberstein maintains an educational website on Deep Brain Stimulation at www.sydneydbs.com and writes regularly on Parkinson's disease for social media channels www.facebook.com/treatmentsforpd and www.twitter.com/Therapies4PD.
