Dr Harpham is a kind, calm and caring obstetrician. She feels privileged to be able to help women and families through every step of the pregnancy journey.

She completed her medical degree at The University of Newcastle and her specialty training at The Royal Hospital for Women in Randwick, obtaining her Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRANZCOG). Margie won the Medal for the highest mark in the examination across Australia and New Zealand during this time. She then chose to undertake further intense training in both Sydney and Auckland to be awarded the Certificate of Maternal Fetal Medicine (CMFM) meaning that she is a genuinely look after both low-risk women and women with any complication in pregnancy.

Dr Harpham has public appointments at both The Royal North Shore Hospital and The Royal Hospital for Women. She offers private care at both The Royal North Shore Hospital and North Shore Private Hospitals.

She sits on the Examination Committee for MFM for the RANZCOG. She is also a member of the State-wide Obstetric Consultation service providing advice and assistance in Obstetric emergencies across the State.

Dr Harpham has experience with helping families who have experienced preterm birth or perinatal loss, and previously headed the twins clinic at RHW.

She is one of the few obstetriciuans with fetal medicine subspecialty training and women in Australia who are skilled in fetal therapy. She is able to perform highly specialised lifesaving procedures such as blood transfusions for unborn babies, and operate in utero to try to save pregnancies with rare complications such as twin to twin transfusion syndrome.

Margie is a very positive person, who has an outstanding skill for communication. She strives to deliver personalised, compassionate care by working together with her patients to tailor pregnancy care to meet each woman’s needs and desires for her pregnancy.

She is a warm, genuine and down-to-earth person with a keen sense of humour. She practices obstetrics because she really loves seeing a pregnancy develop and feels the ultimate sense of job satisfaction helping bring new life into the world.

Margie was born and raised on the North Shore of Sydney and lives locally with her husband and young family. When not working, she is a keen cricketer and farmer.
