Dr Geoffrey Francis, Consultant Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist, grew up in the Byron Shire and after completing high school attained a science degree with honours from Newcastle University. He subsequently attended medical school at the University of Queensland and completed his physician training at Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane.

Geoff underwent general gastroenterology training at the John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle before completing an advanced interventional endoscopy fellowship in Melbourne's Western Hospital. Geoff further completed an interventional fellowship at one of the United States premier endoscopy facilities, Wake Forest University in North Carolina. Geoff is now back on the Gold Coast and established in practice to provide prompt and professional general gastroenterology consultation.

Geoff has advanced training in interventional endoscopy including endoscopic ultrasound, ERCP, endoscopic mucosal resection, and capsule endoscopy.
