Dr Muthulakshmi Narasimhan (Muthu) is a Paediatrician with specialty fellowship training in General Paediatrics. She is highly skilled and has extensive experience in helping families and children since 2003, having worked and trained in Australia and India. Dr Narasimhan is highly proficient in Neonatal health & development including resuscitation of the newborn, paediatric endocrinology and diabetes, developmental and general paediatrics. She is an accredited paediatrician with AHPRA specialist recognition and is the Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP). Dr Narasimhan graduated from the Christian Medical College, Vellore– India’s top medical training institute, with a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery. Having completed her paediatric residency at the same Institute, she went on to work there as a Consultant Paediatrician and Assistant Professor for four years prior to relocating to Adelaide, South Australia. While in Adelaide she worked at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital, Flinders Medical Centre as well as the Lyell McEwin Hospital.After top up training in neonatology, paediatric emergency medicine, paediatric retrieval medicine, Youth mental health, behavioural paediatrics and adolescent medicine, she obtained her Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP). Before moving to be with her family in Ipswich, Dr Narasimhan has worked in regional Victoria (Mildura) since 2016 as a Staff Specialist Paediatric Consultant, where she has also held the position of Adjunct Lecturer at the Monash Rural School of Medicine. She has contributed to paediatric textbooks, presented in multiple international conferences and has publications in peer reviewed journals to her name. She is passionate about medical education and well-liked by paediatric trainees and medical students. Dr Narasimhan has an excellent perspective on caring for families and children from regional and remote communities. Dr Narasimhan is friendly, approachable and is committed to providing an individualised and patient centred approach to the care of her patients.
