Dr Soni Stephen is a specialist paediatric dentist and and maintains a specialist private practice in Miranda NSW. He is a Clinical Senior Lecturer at University of Sydney and a Fellow of Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons. Dr Stephen is also a Fellow of the International College of Dental Surgeons and Academy of Dentistry International. Dr Stephen is interested in all aspects of paediatric oral health, including prevention and management of dental caries, behaviour management, pulp therapy, management of acute dento-alveolar trauma in children and young adults. He also provides oral surgical procedures such as removal of supernumerary and impacted teeth, exposure and ligation of impacted teeth and frenectomies and orthodontic services.

After completing his specialist training from the University of Adelaide and the Adelaide Women’s and Children’s Hospital in 1997, Dr Stephen worked at the Royal Children’s Hospital of Melbourne prior to moving to Sydney in 2000. He joined Sydney Dental Hospital in December 2000 as Head of Paediatric Dentistry and Senior Staff Specialist a position he maintained till 2016. He was also made a Senior Clinical Lecturer at University of Sydney. During this time Dr Stephen also maintained a part time specialist private practice . In 2011 Dr Stephen opened Southside Paediatric Dentistry Miranda NSW, a ultra modern and state of art paediatric facility. Dr Stephen is accredited to operate through St George Private Hospital theatres. He is also a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons, International College of Dentists and Academy of Dentistry International. Dr Stephen is an examiner for the Royal College (RACDS) and the Australian Dental Council. He is also a regular member of Rotary Australia Vietnam Cleft Lip and Palate and Specialist Dental Team visiting Vietnam every year. Dr Stephen has lectured extensively both locally and internationally as a key note and guest speaker.
Dr Stephen is committed to providing high quality specialist paediatric oral care to his patients. He is passionate about prevention of dental decay, reinforcing good oral habits and seeking improvments for the general health and well-being of his patients.
