Dr Paul Leschke is a consultant interventional radiologist and endovascular specialist with a wide range of interests, including embolisation for treatment of benign & malignant tumours, enlarged prostate, pelvic congestion syndrome, varicoceles and visceral aneurysms. He is also experienced in fistula maintenance as well as endovascular management of acute and chronic DVT.
Paul grew up on the Sunshine Coast, completed degrees in biochemistry at the University of Queensland, and medicine at the University of Newcastle.
He completed training in radiology at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital with further fellowship training in interventional radiology at the Princess Alexandra Hospital. He has been a consultant interventional radiologist on the Sunshine Coast since 2015
He has recognition of training in peripheral endovascular therapy (Conjoint Committee of Royal Australian College of Surgeons and Royal Australian & New Zealand College of Radiologists), and is also certified by the European Board of Interventional Radiology (EBIR). Paul has an interest in education and training, and is the coordinator of several local and national Interventional Radiology Society of Australasia (IRSA) meetings and conferences.
Paul has been the director of interventional radiology for the Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service since 2017.
He now offers the same high-quality care in the private sector, operating out of Sunshine Coast University Private Hospital, and is passionate to serve the community he was raised in.
